2022 Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium

The 2022 Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium on Analytics for Digital Frontiers will be held on December 10, 2022  at the Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark. The symposium will be held in a hybrid format, encouraging in-person as well as virtual participation.  For more details on the program, we invite you to check the Program Schedule. In addition to various exciting talks, the symposium program features two keynote talks from Anand Rao, Global AI Lead at PwC and Simon Woodworth from University College Cork, an editorial panel of top Information Systems journals, and a research development workshop for doctoral students.  Top submissions from this symposium will have the opportunity to be fast-tracked to one of many journals partnering with SIGDSA.

The symposium will be held in conjunction with the Association for Information System’s International Conference on Information Systems scheduled for December 9-14, 2022 (Copenhagen, Denmark).

The symposium theme is Analytics for Digital Frontiers and this year’s program will focus on the role of data analytics in organizations’ digitization and transformation journey. While digitization is touching all walks of life, technological advances present opportunities as well as challenges for organizations due to changing societal norms, nature of work, shifting economic conditions, forces of nature, and regulatory demands, among other factors. To that end, the symposium program will cover research (theory and applications) as well as pedagogical practices pertinent to harnessing analytics and data science techniques for creating and studying innovative applications, products, and services, leading us to the next frontiers of digitization. It will bring together academic researchers and industry practitioners who share a common passion for analytics and data science in supporting decision-making and knowledge management to achieve societal and organizational benefits.

We welcome your participation and attendance at this exciting symposium. The (a) Research Track and (b) Teaching and Prototypes Track promise to bring together complementary aspects of research, pedagogy, and practice in the form of research talks, teaching case presentations, research prototype showcase, panels, and more. The Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium will continue to build on the momentum of prior SIGDSA events by providing a forum for facilitating constructive discussions for researchers, instructors, and practitioners who are engaged in exploring topics and issues in business analytics and data science at large. Continuing our tradition, we are also awarding doctoral research awards to encourage doctoral students to participate in the Analytics Research Development Workshop and to present their research at the Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium, get feedback from renowned scholars in the field, and network with peers.

SIGDSA has received the outstanding SIG award from AIS for nine consecutive years for the wide variety of activities, events, and projects made available to SIG members. Find out more about AIS SIGDSA, and join SIGDSA!
